How are we already halfway through 2021!? I don't know about anyone else, but my brain refuses to understand the notion of time anymore.

How are you planning to spend the rest of the year? I like to use June as a way to reflect and figure out the plan for the next half of the year, and it'll be the same this year. I may share some of my planning and thoughts along the way along with new projects and happenings too.

2018 Disney Africa Content Showcase

One of my favourite events of the year took place on Thursday: the 2018 Walt Disney Company Africa content showcase. It’s no surprise that I’m a Disney Devotee at heart, so to attend these yearly events is always a treat and low key gets me emotional to find out more about the future Disney happenings.

This year the showcase took place at Monte and I ended up gatecrashing the second session too – are we even surprised? It was such fun to chat to the team about my excitement around Raven-Symone’s visit to South Africa and geek out about all the #Mickey90 merch – I want it all!

I could list everything that happened at the showcase, but I figured I’d share the content I’m most excited about below:

Mish Meets | Coming Soon

Hello everyone! I hope the start of Spring is treating you well, even though it seems like Winter decided to prolong it’s stay suddenly. I’m currently sitting at one of my favourite places: Starbucks @ The Marc, Sandton. It seems I’m constantly finding their spaces to be perfectly conducive for work – also who doesn’t enjoy sipping on a Pumpkin Spice Latte or an Iced Teavana drink.

5 Albums I’m Loving Right Now

If you know me IRL, then you know that I constantly have my earphones on because I’m forever listening to music. Whether it’s my Ultimate Nicki Minaj playlist or a new discovered artist, there’s always a song, album or playlist to get you into a total vibe – whether it’s to be in your feels or totally happy.

I thought it would be fun to share some of the albums I’m currently rotating between below.

August 2018

Well, it’s been a good several months since I last posted. Things have been pretty hectic with campaigns and happenings at work which allowed for little time to focus on anything else. Now, I’m ready to get back into my passion and work on what I truly love: sharing conversations with incredible people and telling their stories – amongst many other things.

With that said, I won’t dwell on why I chose to take such a prolonged break, but rather focus on the great things I was able to experience. I really believe in having experiences because you don’t want to trade away the feelings those memories come with – they truly are priceless.

Here’s to 25

25 years ago I was born. How crazy is that… I’m 25 years old today. I feel like I’m secretly 50 in this body at times, possibly because I’ve been working for the last 7 years – 10 years if you start counting the years I freelanced in high school. I sometimes feel like I hit the fast-forward button, and here I am with the last several years going by in a blur.

What will Katy Perry perform in South Africa?

Aaah, Katy Perry is coming to South Africa! Big Concerts is bringing her Witness: The Tour experience to Johannesburg for two nights (18 and 20 July) and I am beyond excited! I'm a fellow Katy Kat - I think she's the perfect amount of sweet and sassy bundled up in one super creatively talented being.   There's still 173 days until the concert (I mean, not that anyone's counting) and I've already got all the Apple Music and YouTube playlists blasting! I've been looking through the average set list from the tour, and it has me hyped! All of my favourites are there and I bet it's going to be a blast!   I figured it would be great to share some of my favourites I can't wait to see her perform live - acoustic versions for some of these would be ideal! Unconditionally This is a song that would give me goosebumps if she did an acoustic...

Mish Meets: Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena

Whenever I'm asked about who my favourite local artist is, I always choose Nomuzi "Moozlie" Mabena. She's a talented rapper and serves the style every single moment she steps out. That's why I was super amped to finally be meeting her. For those not in the know, I always draw comparison between her and Nicki Minaj - mainly due to her skill as a MC and her general personality. Plus, we all know how much I absolutely adore Nicki so if I'm comparing the two, it's a HUGE compliment.   When it came to the next episode of The Dish with Sips and Mish, I knew we wanted to talk about Awards Season and naturally we decided on the 2018 Grammys. Deciding who would join us as a guest, Moozlie seemed to be the obvious perfect choice: not only is she an incredible hip-hop artist but she hosts V-Entertainment weekly on Vuzu Amp which...

New Year, New Us

I could have titled this ‘New Year, New Me’ but I didn’t want to imply projecting change for myself - a new year allows us all to reflect on ourselves and work towards a positive goal. Also, the key word is goal - note how I did not use the term resolution.   Resolutions seem too strict of a term to tie ourselves to and the moment we break it and don’t succeed we find ourselves in a pity pot of emotion. Whereas a goal, is far easier to attain if you break it down into digestible chunks: one month, three months, six months and so on dependent on what it is.   I like sharing my own goals because it allows me a chance to look back and see what I’ve done. In the past I’ve never really achieved every single thing I listed for myself but 2018 is going to...

Introducing The Dish with Sips and Mish

Is it too early to hope 2018 can hurry up already? I have a lot of ideas and things I want to do but feel waiting for the new year to kick it off is ideal… hence the silence. I mean, it’s not as if I’ve done nothing. If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or still have some sort of presence on Facebook then you’d know that I’ve been a part of something really cool for DStv: The Dish with Sips and Mish.

The Law of Attraction

In an odd combination of listening to Bea Miller's latest EP (Chapter Three: Yellow) and eating pretzel thins from Woolworths, I found myself wanting to write this. I guess it's been at the back of my mind, so it was really just a matter of time. Where it started Okay, I think I've always been a fellow believer of the Law of Attraction since prior to The Secret and such. I always would think positively about interviews and future happenings and 9 times out of 10, chances are it would be a similar result. I just don't think I actively went out trying to live a life around the Law of Attraction. What is Law of Attraction? Simply put, it's a belief that you can attract negative or positive results into your life by positive or negative thoughts. What you put out into the universe is what you receive back. For a more detailed explanation...
