Disney LEGO Minifigures

With Disney’s annual content showcase coming up soon, I thought it would be a great time to share some photos of my recent purchase of Disney LEGO Minifigures. I bought these on Takealot a few months back and LOVE them.

I had seen these cute little figures in a few unboxing videos on YouTube and was surprised to see them available in South Africa. Fun fact, I collect figures. I wouldn’t say I’m an avid collector but I do have a small box of Funkos and such. It’s a fun little hobby – expensive too at times may I add. I’ve lately been sharing photos online of this other side of my geek/otaku persona. Luckily, it’s something that quite a few people are pretty outspoken about.

Anywho, I had purchased four blind bags and had wanted to get Ursula, Stitch, Minnie Mouse, Peter Pan and Alice. In all honesty, I don’t mind having all of them. I got Ursula as I had hoped. Then Genie was next up and doubles of Daisy (need to swop it with someone).

Here are the photos, where you can see the simplicity and cuteness, I truly adore them. I can’t wait to get more!

May the Fourth be with you

It’s 4th of May… you know what that means… May the Fourth be with you. Yes, a nod to Star Wars, naturally. I’m nowhere near being a huge fan of Star Wars but I can appreciate it now having attended the South African premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Disney Africa sent me the DVD a few weeks back and I’ve been keeping it for this day.

Not being a Star Wars fan, the latest offering definitely piqued my interest. In January I watched the first Trilogy and quite enjoyed it – I need to watch the second Trilogy. What I quite enjoyed is all the detail that went into something when the time of effects and such were probably limited, they pushed the boundaries.

The main enjoyment factor were the cool stories. I loved how they fleshed out all the characters. I adored how strong Princess Leia is/was – you can see that type of strength in Rey now. One of my ultimate favourite characters is probably Darth Vader. Yup, I have a thing for the bad guys, haha.

I feel I need to continue watching these movies and give it a second watch to truly appreciate it. Being a huge Potterhead, people figured I’d have gotten into this. I quite enjoy the games so it’s not an entirely foreign concept but it can get confusing.

SO here’s to May 4th, I look forward to delving more into the Star Wars world.
