Mango Durban Store Launch

Last night I attended the Mango store launch with my sister (who was DJing at the event). It was super exciting because this was the first store to open in the province of KwaZulu-Natal – yay! I’m not going to lie, I was a bit confused at first because the store actually opened on Monday yet last night was an event opened to the public – I guess there is more to it than meets the eye so I won’t delve on that too much… but I’m pretty sure a handful of people came through only for the free food. Ha ha.

I loved being able to take a look at the clothing more closely than I’d normally would and capture the beauty of each item’s detail. The prices are not bad at all; I believe in paying good money for quality so they sure do deliver on that. I fell in love with the bags and scarves – I know what I’m getting myself for Christmas! I really am so happy that this Spanish brand has landed in Durban, it’s a must-shop destination for any fashion concious girl.

Below are a few photos I took – enjoy!

Adam Lambert Is Coming To South Africa!

Oh man, I love Adam Lambert! In high school I would have his songs on repeat all of the time. I watched an interview her did with Oprah and that's when I knew he was so humble and so sweet! It's so great to hear he is coming to South Africa! YAY! Adam Lambert Is Coming To South Africa! Big Concerts announce that global superstar Adam Lambert will be touring South Africa for the first time this November, with performances scheduled in Cape Town on Tuesday 13th November 2012 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest and then on Friday 16th November 2012 at the Coca-Cola Dome Johannesburg. The tour is presented by 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 KFM and M-Net. Tickets go on sale Friday 14th September at 9am from Computicket. Adam Lambert came to prominence following his appearance on the eighth season of American Idol. Although he was runner-up, Lambert launched a succesful music...

QUICK TIP: Mascara Resi-Don’t

Hey guys! I hope you all are well. I attended the Vodacom Durban July on Saturday and it was quite an expereince, but I left very early so in all honesty, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to. I could have covered the event so much better, but we can't all be perfect each and every time, right? The highlight of my day was finally meeting the amazing, beautiful, stunning, gorgeous and perfect Jeannie D from Top Billing and getting a quick interview with her - she's Africa's Giuliana Rancic. Oh my word, she's just wonderful. Sigh, the memory of meeting her made me feel a bit better. @MishGov so wonderful meeting you yesterday! You're a great interviewer and I think u have a fine career ahead of u! ????.?????? — Jeannie D (@Jeannieous) July 8, 2012 I'll maybe talk about the July later in the week or post the link to...

I’ll Be Heading To The July!

Hey guys! I hope you are all well. Did I tell you all that I moved desks at work? It's tricky to describe our floor plan, but I'll upload photos next week maybe. Basically, I'm loving how my new spot is so quiet and I'm able to be more focused. Though, I do miss the random conversations with my colleagues about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, but they've just forgotten about me so I've made peace with that...

Zara Opening – Images & Review

Hey Guys! I'm so sorry that this is long overdue, but I have been so tired lately and busy that sitting in front of my laptop and blogging is the last thing on my mind. Have I mentioned the flooding and heavy rain and wind thanks to Cyclone Irina? It's a rare thing for Durban to experience. Well, enough about the weather! Last week Thursday I attended the Zara media opening at Gateway Theatre of Shopping. There weren't that many people - very exclusive. Instead of an opening, I would have rather given it the catch phrase 'collection viewing' as that is what it had seemed to have been. There were light snacks and it felt like I was in a fashion museum. Seriously, if you are not into those clean lines, high-end and quite 'out there yet still subtle' looks, then Zara is not your place to be shopping at. Every...

Zara Media Launch

Guess what!? I've been invited to the media opening of Zara at Gateway here in Durban! I cannot wait - it is on Thursday! It is about time that Zara graced the mall floorings of Gateway with its clothing perfection. There was a Zara store opened in Jo'burg not long ago, but this is Durban's turn - took foreeever if you ask me. Every time people walk pass where the store will be and look at the construction walling up with the Zara logo, they literally sigh. I thought I'd share some pretty photos of the clothing Zara offers. My Feature Friday post this week will be about attending the event on Thursday. Excitement! Such pretty clothing awaits to be admired. Are you a Zara fan? Yes or no? Update: I am no longer going but will still update you guys on what I hear. I'm too burned out from work and am so tired to...

I Look Like A Roast Chicken

Oh wow, this is my first blog for December and as usual, I'm going to start off with my complaints. I'm so tired. This must have been the longest weekend of my life that just passed. Deadmau5 was awesome and Prime Circle yesterday was painful! Okay, let me rephrase the above; due to the insane heat and sun yesterday I got sun burnt. Seriously, I'm Indian for crying out loud and didn't think it would be THIS bad? I'm like 548574 shades darker and have a red tinge to my skin. I look so bad. It's so depressing.  I really just want it to fade away now and I will be so so happy. I don't like my skin complexion to be any darker than it should be. I look like a roast chicken - that's the best way to describe this - Like a Nando's chicken to be precise. Well,...

Right-Click & View

I wish I could really right-click someone's head, then I'd know why people are the way they are - maybe they were created in a silly .jpeg format instead of the perfect .png. I sometimes feel that I am surrounded by users; people who care very little about my existence but like to know me when they want something. From free concert tickets and merchandise to contact details and information. It can become so stressful and frustrating that it makes me want to just run away. It's so hard to near impossible to find people who are interested in being my friend for me as a person and not for what I do. I mean, sometimes I think that people are genuine at first but later they show their true colours. Recently, I've had such drama with a now ex-friend. I don't want to go into details but I was justified in my...

I’m Deaf From That ‘Music Affair’

Last night was fantastic! It really was a ton of fun and that was due to my great friends at the event. I had my friend, Gabi accompany me and I spotted a few people from Twitter and Erin and Holly were there, too. Erin was a part of media so it was fun getting footage with alongside her and she would randomly try to take a few photos of me - not as if I allowed her! Oh yeah, the title of this post relates to my current deaf state and 'Music Affair' is a popular single from The Graeme Watkins Project. A lot of you were a bit surprised by my previous post, it seems none of you gathered that I was a celebrity reporter, well...
