The Law of Attraction

In an odd combination of listening to Bea Miller's latest EP (Chapter Three: Yellow) and eating pretzel thins from Woolworths, I found myself wanting to write this. I guess it's been at the back of my mind, so it was really just a matter of time. Where it started Okay, I think I've always been a fellow believer of the Law of Attraction since prior to The Secret and such. I always would think positively about interviews and future happenings and 9 times out of 10, chances are it would be a similar result. I just don't think I actively went out trying to live a life around the Law of Attraction. What is Law of Attraction? Simply put, it's a belief that you can attract negative or positive results into your life by positive or negative thoughts. What you put out into the universe is what you receive back. Through my phone

Hello all! It’s Spring which means moods are elevated and a sense of motivation is in the air. As corny as it is, the change of seasons sure does allow for a shift in perspective. Normally for myself it means I tend to be a lot more productive as days become longer with the sun rising before 06:30 and setting after 18:30.

Anyway, it’s time to share some photos from the week. Not many, but it was a fun week nonetheless.

Starting Over

I’m back… I’m finally back! It’s been a long time coming, but after several months, I’ve returned with new motivation and a new look. I suddenly disappeared last year in November – part due to my Christmas holiday and part due to lack of creativity or inspiration. It happens, losing motivation is a real and honest thing that occurs and when it does, you need to be able to identify why.

I’m not here to talk about my unexplained hiatus. I’m also not here (yet) to tell you how to get out of a slump. I’m here to share my next vision.

Summer Holiday Must Dos

Hello Summer holiday! Yup, a lot of us are probably on holiday. Well, technically I'm not because I'll be heading off to China in March but I did take a few days off so I'm keen to try out some new things as well as relax. With tons of times on your hands, do you know how you will be spending the holiday with your friends and family? Groupon offers a myriad of things to do and places to see, whatever your tastes I bet you'll be able to find something fun to get up to! My friends over at Groupon shared with me a list of cool things to check out in JHB. Check it out below! I know I may be trying one or two of the below during my time off. Bungee Jump for One at Bungee Mogale Before the invention of bungee jumping, flying through the air was an experience reserved only...

Wild Orchid at Forever New

Last week I attended the Forever New collection unveiling event with my sister and lovely friend from work, Chantelle. The collection is called Wild Orchid and has a beautiful palette of pinks and blues which I adore plus the signature Forever New floral.

The event, as always, was a pretty and lovely setting at the Sandton City branch. Most collections are worn by models but Forever New chose a great group of women to showcase the clothing this time around. Some of these women are actually friends of mine such as the uber-cool Sureshnie from 5FM and queen of PR Melanie Ramgee. I also loved seeing Allegro, Mokgads and Roxy Burger amongst the other Wild Orchids for the night.

Many macaroons and mocktails (and singing Love is An Open Door from Frozen with Sush) later, I must say, Forever New always throws a perfect gathering! I’m still not too sure how I missed so many of my Twitter friends (like LadyZaa and Le1ghLo) at the event, but there will definitely be a next time! Perhaps it was due to the many DSLR selfies being taken by Chants and I – who has time for phone selfies anyway. 😉

Speaking of Chantelle (otherwise now known as Demi Lovato/Ariana Grande/Selena Gomez), she’ll be starting her blogging journey very soon and I’m so excited to share her blog link with you! After many discussions at her desk, I can’t wait to be seeing her content which will be a good mix of indie music, fashion, beauty and hopefully some type of Asian influence (ie: manga, anime and k-pop/j-pop) that got us to become friends.

I want everything in the latest Forever New collection and with the 15% discount offered during the night, it was tempting. Alas, I did not come out with anything – except for the super pretty purse that came in the gift bag. I think I’ll be heading to Forever New soon though to grab a piece or two from the collection – LOVE IT!

Make sure to head to your closest Forever New store to take a look at the wonderful collection, Wild Orchid! Here are some photos from the event that I took.

We Keep Moving Forward Opening New Doors

Hey everyone! How are you? I had a brainwave of an idea the other day which I tweeted about on Twitter. It was a blog-related idea - one could even say a moment of total inspiration or maybe even realization. I won't say too much about it because it's pretty technical and makes more sense in my head but soon you'll start seeing what it by the new direction of my posts. I've finally found a way to tie everything I love together so that it all makes more sense - I can't have multiple blogs, I'm sorry...

I’ll Keep This Memory On The Map I Trace

Um, I was born in 1993 so technically, I was a kid of the 90's and not a teen. It was only in 2006 did I turn 13 to officially be referred to as a teenager. Oh, I definitely was more like a toddler of the 90's. What a pity because the 90's seemed like a great time to be growing up in. Firstly, there was no advanced technology like we have now but the second - if not first - most important point is that all the best teen movies and shows were created and aired in the 90's. I'd love to watch them all over and over and over again. Oh my heck, do you remember the fashion of the 90's!? Pretty interesting. Teeny tiny buns that Miley Cyrus should try out, tight curls the Jersey Shore guys could sport, butterfly clips that everyone loved and printed tights and...

I’ll Be Heading To The July!

Hey guys! I hope you are all well. Did I tell you all that I moved desks at work? It's tricky to describe our floor plan, but I'll upload photos next week maybe. Basically, I'm loving how my new spot is so quiet and I'm able to be more focused. Though, I do miss the random conversations with my colleagues about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, but they've just forgotten about me so I've made peace with that...

Zara Media Launch

Guess what!? I've been invited to the media opening of Zara at Gateway here in Durban! I cannot wait - it is on Thursday! It is about time that Zara graced the mall floorings of Gateway with its clothing perfection. There was a Zara store opened in Jo'burg not long ago, but this is Durban's turn - took foreeever if you ask me. Every time people walk pass where the store will be and look at the construction walling up with the Zara logo, they literally sigh. I thought I'd share some pretty photos of the clothing Zara offers. My Feature Friday post this week will be about attending the event on Thursday. Excitement! Such pretty clothing awaits to be admired. Are you a Zara fan? Yes or no? Update: I am no longer going but will still update you guys on what I hear. I'm too burned out from work and am so tired to...

I’m In SEVENTEEN!

(Click on the above image to view it in a larger size - will upload the scan next week) Aaaaah, such excitement! I was interviewed by features intern at Seventeen magazine [South Africa], Samantha last year in October not long after my interview on 3Talk on SABC3. I was so surprised when she got into contact with me. Thank you, Sam! Ha ha, I've had to wait so long but it is worth the wait. I'm featured amongst two other awesome people. They wanted to know about how I got started and if I had any tips  for other people - pretty cool! So, if you are in SA - or the bordering countries of SA - go and pick up a copy of the March issue of Seventeen magazine! Also, my EXCLUSIVE interview with Cody Simpson comes out next week in the March issue of TeenZone magazine - I'm the first person in Africa...
