It's February! Technically my 2020 starts now, so Happy New Year to me! I've delayed this because work, work and more work, ha ha.

From 1 Feb I'll be on holiday and I can't wait to reset and re-align my thoughts, goals and what I want from 2020. Have you set the theme for this year as yet?

Stay great and be happy this month <3

How I’m Keeping Sane During Lockdown

Hello everyone 👋🏽 How are you doing? Today we’re nearing the 50-day mark in lockdown for South Africa, and it’s a surreal moment when you think about it. It still blows my mind that this is our current new normal for the foreseeable future. Who would have ever imagined last year this time that 2020 would see all of us inside, cautious and restricting interaction. Wherever you are, I hope you’re safe ♥

Today I wanted to share a quick list of things I’m doing to help keep me distracted and sane when I’m not working my 9-5 from home:

My Life Right Now

I know many people choose to micro-blog over on Instagram, however I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the traditional blog platform. I love sharing photos and thoughts together here because I tend to often look back at how things were. So here we have a throwback to an old style of post I used to love doing with snaps from my phone.

Hello, 2020

Hello world, hello 2020. It’s been a minute since I was last around these parts. While I missed it, it was hard to come back when my attention had to be elsewhere. I won’t get into it, but with a new year here it’s time to make time for everything I want, and more.

Bloom and Fab! on 4th Avenue in Parkhurst

I wanted to title this Life Through My Phone, but is it if it only comprises of four photos? Those are the important questions, but let’s be honest… I just want to talk about the two cute places I visited recently.

I recently went for a little (read: long) catch up with a friend and we ended up going to two super cute places on 4th Avenue in Parkhurst – literally littered with adorable places to visit.

2019: New Year, New Me

Is it too late in the month to be writing about thoughts and feelings for 2019? No, I don’t think so. January is one of those reflective months where you’ve still got a foot in the previous year as you mentally navigate the new calendar year.

I played around with the idea of sharing some of my hopes for 2019, and as you can tell have decided to let a few of them live online. I think it’s nice to be able to read back at what you hoped for and have a sense of accountability for what you were feeling at that time. So, here’s some of what I’m thinking:

Best coffee places in JHB

Don’t expect me to rattle off a list of places that are super unique or quirky, because I’m still looking for that. Rather, these coffee shops are places I frequent to go and work or for a little catch up over endless coffee and cake with friends on weekday evenings.

I’m not an entirely difficult person to impress, so these places are quaint spots that have a charm – even thought they’re totally considered mainstream.

Life in Photos | #1

I take a lot of photos, most of which don’t even end up on Twitter and Instagram. Sometimes I get lazy to post a snap ASAP or have another photo in mind, can you relate? So I figured it would be nice to compile some of the photos together and share over here. Even though most of my updates go across my social media platforms, I still enjoy sitting down and writing my thoughts down – it’s the writer in me.

Well, let’s take a look at a few photos from over the last few weeks.

August 2018

Well, it’s been a good several months since I last posted. Things have been pretty hectic with campaigns and happenings at work which allowed for little time to focus on anything else. Now, I’m ready to get back into my passion and work on what I truly love: sharing conversations with incredible people and telling their stories – amongst many other things.

With that said, I won’t dwell on why I chose to take such a prolonged break, but rather focus on the great things I was able to experience. I really believe in having experiences because you don’t want to trade away the feelings those memories come with – they truly are priceless.

Here’s to 25

25 years ago I was born. How crazy is that… I’m 25 years old today. I feel like I’m secretly 50 in this body at times, possibly because I’ve been working for the last 7 years – 10 years if you start counting the years I freelanced in high school. I sometimes feel like I hit the fast-forward button, and here I am with the last several years going by in a blur.

New Year, New Us

I could have titled this ‘New Year, New Me’ but I didn’t want to imply projecting change for myself - a new year allows us all to reflect on ourselves and work towards a positive goal. Also, the key word is goal - note how I did not use the term resolution.   Resolutions seem too strict of a term to tie ourselves to and the moment we break it and don’t succeed we find ourselves in a pity pot of emotion. Whereas a goal, is far easier to attain if you break it down into digestible chunks: one month, three months, six months and so on dependent on what it is.   I like sharing my own goals because it allows me a chance to look back and see what I’ve done. In the past I’ve never really achieved every single thing I listed for myself but 2018 is going to...
