How are we already halfway through 2021!? I don't know about anyone else, but my brain refuses to understand the notion of time anymore.

How are you planning to spend the rest of the year? I like to use June as a way to reflect and figure out the plan for the next half of the year, and it'll be the same this year. I may share some of my planning and thoughts along the way along with new projects and happenings too.

Stay safe <3
Stay home, stay safe!

I’ll Keep This Memory On The Map I Trace

Um, I was born in 1993 so technically, I was a kid of the 90’s and not a teen. It was only in 2006 did I turn 13 to officially be referred to as a teenager. Oh, I definitely was more like a toddler of the 90’s. What a pity because the 90’s seemed like a great time to be growing up in. Firstly, there was no advanced technology like we have now but the second – if not first – most important point is that all the best teen movies and shows were created and aired in the 90’s. I’d love to watch them all over and over and over again.

Oh my heck, do you remember the fashion of the 90’s!? Pretty interesting. Teeny tiny buns that Miley Cyrus should try out, tight curls the Jersey Shore guys could sport, butterfly clips that everyone loved and printed tights and mesh tops that are funnily enough, still in style. It was a time that could make anyone cough up rainbows and spit out sparkles. I wish I could have experienced that time!

In no particular order here are my fave teen 90’s movies – some pictured above:

10 Things I Hate About You

Empire Records

Wish Upon A Star

Never Been Kissed

Can’t Hardly Wait

My Girl

Every Olsen Twins movie

What are your fave teen movies from the 90’s? I’m dying to know!

Title derived from Andrew Belle's ''Make It Without You''

I may only have been born in the late 90’s, but I think Clueless is great! I have to admit that I probably have watched EVERY Olsen Twin movie. I’m glad that I came across your blog, thanks to your comment on mine 🙂

I am also a 90’s kid. Though, the only thing I watched was cartoon back in the days. To this day, I have never really bothered watching any of those “typical” teen movies and tv shows. I just know that back in the days, people wore clothes that covered most of their bodies. Unfortunatly, I don’t have any favorite teen movies :P.

At the most these days, I watch an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians once a month or so. I think they’re cool, but I spend my time doing other things & not pay attention to tv :P.

    Take care ;D

I was also a 90’s toddler, and have always been interested in 90s fashion – particularly 90s grunge. My Girl made me cry, and I remember buying My Girl 2 and I’m pretty sure that made me cry too. Clueless & 10 Things I hate About You were awesome, too. I remember the olsen twin’s movie when they went to Australia, haha.

  • August 10, 2012

Oh the 90s! I loved the 90s, lol. I was born in 88 so I feel like a 90s child. I loved Wish Upon A Star! I love almost all 90s movies/music/tv lol.

  • August 10, 2012

Sheesh I love all 90s movies. They did the rom com better than any decade…ever. Clueless is def. in my top ten.

    Love your blog…following now! 🙂

  • August 10, 2012

Clueless is pretty much the fashion movie of the 90s, so many good quotes from there I still use sporadically today; though I really loved Empire Records too 😉

  • August 10, 2012

ohh i so love clueless! i can watch this over and over again! 🙂 i’m a 90’s baby as well!

  • August 10, 2012

I was born in 1994, therefore I am a kid of the 1990s as well! 😀 That decade has had quite a striking impression of me. I’ll have to admit that as a kid I wasn’t a huge fan of the fashions then, yet growing up I have come to appreciate it them.

I liked the hair accessories from the beginning, though. Butterfly clips, check. Colorful hair ties, check. I was a princess-y little girl who loved dressing up and doing her hair.

Who could seriously love those? Still light years better than many of the trends we have nowadays which I cannot comprehend.

I liked “10 Things I Hate About You” as well. 🙂 Just about one of my favorite movies that I only got to see on YouTube, part by part, some four years ago.

You too have a site that contains a HUGE amount of pink! Granted, it is a fashion blog so you have an excuse. 😉

‘i know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?’

‘did you come from planet loser?’ ‘as opposed to planet look-at-me, look-at-me?’

yeah. i have most of 10 things i hate about you memorized!

Haha, I wrote an article about the 90s for the people I work for. I was born in 1992 – and asdfghjkl, I loved growing up in the 90s. I pretty much sported dungarees for most of my toddler years and watched A LOT of cartoons. ._.

10 Things I Hate About You is like my favourite film. Granted I didn’t watch until we were in the 2000s but still, looooooove it.

  • August 10, 2012

Hello Michelle! Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂
Oh gosh, I looove 90’s movies! I was born in 1991, so unfortunately, I didn’t really see any of these teen movies until the 2000’s. I admit, I actually haven’t seen that many movies you listed – only Clueless and 10 Things I Hate About You. But in my mind, they can’t get any better than those two. ^^

  • August 10, 2012

thank u girl!! and AHHH Olsen twin movies! i use to watch all of them!

  • August 10, 2012

Growing up in the 90’s was the best thing ever! It actually makes me sad to think about how great my childhood was, I wish I could go back. People are even trying to recreate 90’s fashion because it was that good.
My favourite 90’s movie definitely has to be clueless, I was actually telling my best friend that I would watch it tonight because I miss it so much. When it came out I was too young to watch it so I got my cousin to record it on my VCR but then she could record HALF of the movie. Imagine how gutted I was lmao.
Bring back the 90’s I say, such a happier time.

  • August 11, 2012

I am just one year older then you and I really loved all the olsen twin movies! I can actually remember the title, but I liked one movie where they where still kids. And they met each other at a summer camp, or something like that? And changed places. That was probably one of my favourite movies back then. Just many great memories aha! 😀 Here in the Netherlands they show older movies on the TV a lot, and I watched ’10 Things I Hate About You’ a few weeks ago again ;p

Thank you for your lovely comment on our blog!! Glad you like the website, I like your blog and will definitely visit here again! (:

  • August 11, 2012

I was only born in 1994 similar to you so I sort of wish I had been born like 88 so I could have properly grown up in the 90s. I have never watched a 90s teen movie haha. I think that’s mainly because most of them are American, which puts me off, because i’m from the UK and everyone’s life is too different in the US haha.

I think I watched more of the mainstream blockbuster 90s movies like Titanic.

  • August 11, 2012

    … I was a baby in the 90s.

So unfortunately, I did not get to experience the awesome-ness that was the 90s! I haven’t seen all of the movies you’ve listed, but I have seen most of the Olsen twins movies, and Clueless! I watched Clueless quite recently!

I do watch movie classics, but I don’t know if they count. :s

Thank you for letting me know! I think I fixed it, but I can’t be sure.

And yes. I have female celebrity crushes as well. Emilia Clarke is a big one. And Emma Stone. Ugh, girls are so perfect. 😉

And if you ever meet Harry Lloyd, tell him that a small Canadian teenager loves him. And has pictures of him. And may or may not worship him.

  • August 13, 2012

haha the debate of “do you really count as a 90s kid?” 🙂 I’m a 90’s kid (HA!). I remember I liked the Olsen twins movies when I was younger, I think every girl in my class felt the same way. But my real love was the cartoons from the 90s! Nowadays cartoons just doesn’t feel the same anymore.

  • August 13, 2012

Ah.~ Thinking about the 90s makes me really nostalgic. I remember when Cartoon Network was awesome..and Disney movies didn’t suck. And there’s Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls. Haha. And kids don’t have facebooks and Ipads and Iphones. I could go on and on and on.haha.

I love 90s movies too. But I’m not really into teen movies then and now. I prefer Toy Story and Casper and those kinds. 🙂

  • August 14, 2012

This post just made me feel nostalgic. Oh childhood!

  • August 15, 2012

It’s funny how the real ’90s kids claim that the 90s had the best music, TV shows, movies, etc. It’s also funny when kids who were born after ’95 claim to be a “real” 90s kid, yet they have zero to no recollection of the Game Boys’ cords attaching to one another, not having a cell phone to talk on, etc. 😛 I wish I could have enjoyed it without being in/around a negative environment. ^^

I’m not so good at choosing favorites. xD

  • August 16, 2012

You named all the ones I like. I love clueless!

  • August 18, 2012

I wasn’t even a baby of the 90’s! But I agree – the 90’s seem like a fun era to live in. And oh, the pictures! I like their style; it’s adorable.

All these movies . . . in the 90’s?! I never knew. Gotta watch them – another thing on my to-do list!

  • August 18, 2012

I’m also a 90’s baby! I hardly watch movies when I am young cause watching movies at the cinemas is so expensive and I prefer to watch dramas at home. I love the Harry Potter series though. Haha.

  • August 19, 2012

I remember music and cartoons from the 90s but not really the movies. I wasn’t really into those teen movies! I was a tomboy, so I preferred movies/shows meant for boys. I actually miss the cartoons and have been watching them lately, like the old Batman series 🙂

  • August 20, 2012

I was born June 12, 1991 and I honestly can’t remember too many movies that I watched back then. I was a computer freak so watching movies wasn’t a huge deal when I was growing up. Thinking about that now, it’s been so long, lol!

  • August 21, 2012

Oh God the 90’s. I reached the age of 13 in 1999 so basically I wasn’t really a teen from the 90’s. But I definitely remember a lot of things from that era. Nothing like today, mosdef, and kids were a hell lot more creative and outgoing, unlike kids today who prefer to stay at home and play video games. And the tv shows, o yeah Cartoon Network was really cool back then and there wasn’t too many of the Disney craps (I’m not saying all Disney movies are bad, but you got my meaning).

Never Been Kissed, yep, watched that one. 😉

  • August 22, 2012

Oh shit, this is like nostalgia overload. You’re the same age as my younger sister, so I’m barely older than you and was only a kid of the 90s as well, but I don’t think our generation will ever get over the 90s. The 00s was just such a … gigantic leap in everything.
