How are we already halfway through 2021!? I don't know about anyone else, but my brain refuses to understand the notion of time anymore.

How are you planning to spend the rest of the year? I like to use June as a way to reflect and figure out the plan for the next half of the year, and it'll be the same this year. I may share some of my planning and thoughts along the way along with new projects and happenings too.

Introducing Disney Channel’s Brand New Comedy Series Jessie!

Introducing Disney Channel’s Brand New Comedy Series Jessie!

When I was younger, I was a HUGE fan of the Suite Life Of Zack & Cody and Suite Life On Deck. I really adored Debby Ryan because she’s so pretty, sweet and can sing – she is so talented. I always wondered when Disney would realize she was deserving of her own show…. they finally did and offered her the title role of their new show, Jessie! Eek, happiness…. here’s the press release below with some interesting facts about the show, too! Enjoy and don’t forget the premiere on Saturday! 😀

Disney Channel’s brand new comedy series Jessie, is set to take South Africa by storm, following its huge ratings success in the U.S. with 4.6 million viewers tuning in to make it the most-watched Friday series premiere in three years.* The series stars 18-year-old teen starlet Debby Ryan of The Suite Life on Deck and 16 Wishes fame, and will premiere on the channel at 09:10 on 10 March.

The story follows the journey of an idealistic teen, played by Ryan, from rural Texas who moves to New York City and becomes a nanny for a high-profile couple with four kids. Starring alongside her is a talented cast including Tony Award-nominated Kevin Chamberlin (Broadway’s The Addams Family) as Bertram; Peyton List (27 Dresses, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules) as Emma; Karan Brar (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules) as Ravi; Cameron Boyce (Grown Ups) as Luke; and Skai Jackson (Royal Pains) as Zuri.

Jessie is a small town girl with big dreams who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime when she decides to leave behind starry nights for big city lights. Thrilled to be on her own and determined not to be intimidated by New York City, she accepts a job as nanny and moves in with highflying couple Morgan and Christina and their four children, Emma, Ravi, Luke and Zuri.

With a whole new world of opportunities within her reach, Jessie begins to navigate young adulthood and life in the big city. She surprises herself with how much she comes to rely on the support and advice of the kids in her care. Also helping to keep her moral compass in check are Bertram, the family’s butler, and Tony, the building’s 20-year-old doorman.

Jessie was created by Pamela Eells O’Connell (Family Matters, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, The Suite Life on Deck), who serves as executive producer. The series is from It’s a Laugh Productions, Inc.

Some things You Did Not Know About Jessie:

“We work on the show all week long, but a live studio audience comes in every Friday to watch the action being recorded,” reveals Skai Jackson, who plays Zuri. “It’s so much fun having an audience in the studio. They laugh at all the jokes and they clap when they get excited. It’s boring without them! After we’ve finished shooting, we go into the crowd and sign autographs. It’s definitely the coolest day of the week.”

“Debby Ryan is the coolest co-star ever,” giggles Peyton List, who plays Emma. “Debby is a lot of fun to be around and she’s always there whenever we need advice or help. The coolest thing Debby did was buy us all scooters! We’re always scooting around the set now. It’s awesome.”

The young cast members have to study whenever they aren’t working, but Debby is also a secret music teacher to actor Cameron Boyce! “There’s a piano in the living room set on the show and Debby is teaching me how to play,” explains Cameron. “I love it. She’s always getting behind the piano whenever we stop filming, so I jump on there with her and practice our piano duet. It’s coming along really well.”

Now see why I love Debby Ryan!? Ha ha, catch the premiere of Jessie on the Disney channel at 09:10 on 10 March [Tomorrow] this Saturday!
