It’s Time to ‘Shake It Up’
I’m a child at heart… actually; I’m only 18years old so to act child-like is expected of me at times. You know how I like to act young? By watching the Disney Channel. I’m obsessed with watching Disney shows…. no matter how unrelated it is to my life, I just think each show is cute and fun. Imagine my excitement when I got into contact with the Disney Channel PR in South Africa – I was over the moon. They’ll be giving me all the Disney Channel related info before it even hits the magazine pages. People who read my blog are divided between South Africa and overseas – SA can sometimes be a bit behind with show scheduling, but you can still enjoy reading about the shows from the official press releases and my thoughts here.
Like, for example, I received this info:
Season 2 of the hugely popular Disney Channel Original Comedy Shake It Up, premieres on the Channel (DStv Channel 303) on Saturday, 25 February at 09:40.
Shake It Up is a buddy-comedy series that introduces two high-spirited girls, best friends CeCe Jones (Bella Thorne) and Raquel ‘Rocky’ Blue (Zendaya Coleman), whose dreams of becoming professional dancers are realized when they become background dancers on the most popular teen dance show, “Shake it Up, Chicago!,” a job they land thanks to their longtime and well-connected friend Deuce. Between learning new dance styles, navigating the backstage antics at the show (especially with their rivals Gunther and Tinka) and their newfound social status at school, the girls are on their way to new and fun adventures, some that will test their friendship.
We [The Disney Channel] will be kicking the second season off with a double episode at 09:40 on Saturday 25th February with a key repeat at 15:55.
Let me not lie, I’m an (avid) secret fan of Shake It Up. Well, I guess I really like the show because of the clothing and how they have such an amazing ability to dance – I, on the other hand, can’t dance. Pity. Actually, Bella learned to dance on the set of Shake It Up, “before I had only ever dreamed of being a dancer. I used to watch So You Think You Can Dance and a lot of other dance shows”, she says. Did I add, I am just as dramatic as Rocky and CeCe, too!
Just had to quickly update you guys about this, let me know if you watch this show or any other Disney shows – seriously, don’t be shy. Admit it, you all are probably huge Disney fans 😉
Oh, I am going to do a quick video update on this over the weekend, too.
