It's February! Technically my 2020 starts now, so Happy New Year to me! I've delayed this because work, work and more work, ha ha.

From 1 Feb I'll be on holiday and I can't wait to reset and re-align my thoughts, goals and what I want from 2020. Have you set the theme for this year as yet?

Stay great and be happy this month <3

My Life Right Now

I know many people choose to micro-blog over on Instagram, however I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the traditional blog platform. I love sharing photos and thoughts together here because I tend to often look back at how things were. So here we have a throwback to an old style of post I used to love doing with snaps from my phone.

The last two weeks I’ve been on holiday and it’s been true bliss. I didn’t go anywhere fancy this time, as I went back home to Durban but it really was a much needed break. Where most people had time off in Dec/Jan I was working throughout so the burnout was real come February. It’s really important to take time for yourself, I’ve always preached that and still do.

What did I do? Not much and that was the ideal situation. I was able to spend time with my mom, watch celebrity doccies (Miss Americana was wonderful, we stan Taylor in this house) and eat. Wow I ate a lot.

I grew up in Durban, so the beach is always something I appreciate. Standing on the pier and overlooking the ocean really puts into perspective how vast the world is – it just has a magnetic magical pull and a feeling of there being more waiting for you. Also, I loved the Los Angeles vibes you feel on the promenade.

I love discovering new places to eat and chill. I took some time out to do that and one of the surprising spots was Humble Coffee. I loved the greenery around the cafe and the simplistic offering. Give me coffee and cake all day, every day.

Food, food and more food. I like tapas because you get to try so many new things and I like the sharing aspect. One of the highlights was that my TokyoTreat subscription arrived! It’s a box of Japanese snacks and drinks that get sent to you. I ordered the premium box with my friend Samantha. We’re tempted to do a mukbang and talk about k-pop happenings. If that doesn’t happen then maybe it’ll be a podcast episode? Either way, I’ll post a review of this subscription at some point for those who are curious.

I’m still on holiday for another day, so let me go stream some of The Bold Type on Showmax. Have a great week everyone 💜
