It's May, my Birthday month! May tends to be such a reflective month and this year is no different.

I can't believe I'm 25 years old... 10 years ago at 15 I discovered my love for entertainment reporting and never looked back. It's crazy to look back to see what I've done and think of what I want to do.

25 is the age where I plan to focus on me, myself and I. I'm starting a new journey of becoming self-aware, more positive and living a more authentic life. I'm super keen to share everything on here.

Remain awesome,

Review and Interview: Locnville – Taste The Weekend

Review and Interview: Locnville – Taste The Weekend

We all remember the fresh-faced twin brother musical duo, Locnville from 2009/10? They gave us the hit Sun in My Pocket. Well, they’ve grown up and after much success with a number of albums including a greatest hits album, they’ve offered Taste The Weekend and I love it!

Taste The Weekend is their debut album since joining Warner Music. Andrew and Brian have been known to try out different musical genres – take for example the LCNVL era. They’ve experimented with many new things during the years and it’s clear that they’ve adapted their discoveries to their new album.

The album includes the hits Cold Shoulder and Grapevine, but have a number of other songs that will soon become favourites too. I quite enjoyed Better, Santa Monica Drive, Just Like Me, Golden Trinkets and title track Taste The Weekend.

Lyrics-wise, the album does surprise at first. From parties to cheating and everything else in-between, the boys have moved away from how most remember them. But then again, they’re in their twenties now, I guess we all need to move on and realise that. What I really loved about the album was how polished and true to their original sounds this was yet still offering something different.

You may need to take a second or third listen to truly appreciate Taste the Weekend but it will be worth it. I’m really excited to see what else comes from these guys because there’s no denying Andrew and Brian are talented when it comes to the production and overall experience offered with each of their songs. Now we just need a tour.

I was lucky enough to sit down with Andrew and Brian a few weeks back to talk abut this album and much more, make sure to check it out below!
