How are we already halfway through 2021!? I don't know about anyone else, but my brain refuses to understand the notion of time anymore.

How are you planning to spend the rest of the year? I like to use June as a way to reflect and figure out the plan for the next half of the year, and it'll be the same this year. I may share some of my planning and thoughts along the way along with new projects and happenings too.

ANTM Is My Guilty Pleasure

ANTM Is My Guilty Pleasure

I have a secret obsession with Tyra Banks I think – it’s odd; it’s weird… It’s really a topic for another day. Though, I am not ashamed to admit that America’s Next Top Model is a show I look forward to watching each week. The show airs twice a week on Wednesday and Thursday evening – I swear South Africa is trying to catch up to the latest season in America seeing as we’re like five seasons behind!

I really did not think that ANTM was a show I’d become so unashamedly addicted to, but alas, here I am about to ramble on about how perfect this show is. Ha, I’m not model material – never have been, and never will. I vaguely remember being about five years old and my mom taking me to modelling lessons, but that lasted for about two hours I think.  This show may be about modelling but it teaches you a lot about how to conduct yourself as a woman and how to carry yourself – I’ve learned a lot. I must admit, Tyra’s art of smizing (smiling with your eyes) is quite on point.
One of my fave contestants – who also won her cycle – is a girl by the name of Nicole Fox. Watching her grow from a shy, awkward eighteen year old to someone gracing the pages of Seventeen and fashion magazines, really gave me hope for my awkward social ability. Yay for that!

So, I just want to know, do you guys have a TV show that is your ‘guilty pleasure’ that you LOVE to watch and never miss?

I used to watch this all the time but I stopped watching it for other shows like so you think you can dance and what not. It is a good show though!

Hmm, my guilty pleasure tv show is…The Angry Beavers. Lol I’m 24 and still likes 90/early 2000 cartoons.

I think it was Season 2 that I was obsessed with when ANTM first came out. (The episodes with Adrienne, and those other models… can’t remember all their names lol it’s been a long time). After awhile, i stopped watching as much. I think the reality shows on the bravo channel are super addicting hahah!

I used to love watching ANTM! It’s useful for me as a photographer, too, because it gives ideas for poses and photoshoots 🙂 My husband can’t stand the show though, so I don’t really have it on anymore, haha. The competition shows by Bravo are my guilty pleasure, especially Top Chef.

I used to watch it all the time, but it was mostly at night because it aired on Star World just near midnight! I ended up sleeping really late because I watched the entire episode, but now I can’t keep track of when it’s airing (and some are repeats, so it’s kind of annoying) so I don’t watch it anymore.

Perhaps I was young (10 years old, but I had a little bit more mature mind :P), but some parts I didn’t get. I was someone who believed that being nice was good, and I didn’t like it when people were mean. It’s like an automatic reaction for me. So whenever I saw the models being mean to each other, I just got annoyed with them and they got kicked out of the mental list in my head.

I ended up without a single person on my list.
